Terms & Conditions

You must read and understand the terms and conditions listed below and hereby agree to be bound by them whilst the skip is on hire to you/ your company.

  1. Drivers are instructed not to drive on footpaths/ driveways /grass verges etc. Should the customer request the driver to do so, and damage is caused to the ground, trees, buildings etc. No responsibility will be taken by Thandi Skips should damage be caused to our vehicle we reserve the right to hold the customer responsible.
  2. The hire period is for 7 Days overall unless otherwise agreed. i.e. a minimum of 6 clear days on site, Thandi Skips reserves the right to remove the skip without warning at any time from the 7th day, regardless of whether or not the skip has been filled.
  3. The customer is responsible for the skip whilst it is on hire to them. In the event of theft or damage to the skip, the customer shall reimburse Thandi Skips in respect of any loss as a result. It is also the customer’s responsibility for the duration of the hire in respect of injury to all persons and third-party claims of any nature.
  4. Thandi Skips will apply to the local council for all necessary permits in order to place a container on the highway, traffic cones and/or lights where necessary will be placed by/on the container. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure where possible that these items, in addition to the container are in good working order and are not interfered with.
  5. The local council can be demand that we remove the skip from the public highway immediately. In which case, we have no other option but to do so.
  6. The container should be loaded in a safe manor with no protruding objects to the side. The container should not be loaded above the load marks or above the container height. This includes the use of boards to ‘build the slides up’. Over loading may result in the excess load being removed or an excess charge being applied. If a skip is overloaded, our drivers reserve the right to refuse to collect the skip until it is made safe for road transport.
  7. Once the skip has been delivered, the skip must not be moved from its location. Doing so may prevent the driver from being able to safely collect the skip when it is full.
  8. It is important to note that some types of waste cannot be thrown into a general waste skip these are deemed as hazardous waste. The table below is a list of common waste streams that are suitable for a general waste skip, and those that are not General Wastes like :
    1. Wood
    2. Plastic
    3. Scrap Metals
    4. Paper/cardboard
    5. Bricks
    6. Rubble
    7. Concrete
    8. Non-contaminated soil
    9. Garden Waste (Tree cutting, etc)
    10. Fabrics
    11. Note : General waste that is contaminated with hazardous waste is classes as hazardous
  9. WARNING: The driver may refuse to collect a container loaded with hazardous material as detailed in (8) above or not complying with the term (details above). Should the driver have a wasted journey as a result of this a £40 charge may be levied. A Charge of £40 minimum will be made for the overloading of the skip.
  10. Thandi Skips shall not be liable for any sub sequential expense, liability, loss or claim proceeding whatsoever caused by or arising from late delivery/collection, non-delivery, breakdown or stoppage of any kind.
